Entry #1

This morning I scratched repeatedly at the door of the smaller female human. She's referred to by the sounds "Ehmurlee" so that is what I shall call her here.

It took a while, and a lot of loud calling, but eventually she opened her door and went back to bed. I said thank you, and jumped onto her bed, where she was staring at her small glowy rectangle. The humans have these glowing flat shapes that captivate them. I often have to use every method at my disposal to tear them away from these things, and still they return to it. It baffles me.

I pressed my forehead against Ehmurlee's, pushing her head away from the rectangle, and she emitted a soft, broken noise. I've learnt the humans have varying pitches and versions of this sound, and it's used to show joy, so I knew I had done right.

It took a few nudges, but eventually her hand touched the rectangle and it stopped glowing, and she began to stroke me from head to tail. I made my own broken noise of joy to show her my appreciation, and lay down against her warm, soft belly. I liked this human, she gave me lots of attention, and strokes me just where I like it.

After a while of this, I sensed she was asleep once more, and, happy with my achievements, I jumped down from the bed quietly and left.

Later on, the larger humans were rushing around, carrying huge amounts of things, moving in and out of all the rooms. Thankfully, they did give me my food.

At the moment, my mouth hurts, so the humans have resorted to giving me mush. Food that is smooth and in no need of chewing. It still hurts, even after waking up from a trip to the white-hell to find I was missing two teeth...

The larger humans left a while later, and it is now quiet. The large glowy rectangle on the wall is flashing colours and talking, but I am comfortable. I have chosen a cushion and have draped myself over it, one paw down to the floor, eyes closed.

Life is good.
